Surface of eyeball looks abnormal but not inflamed

Visible abnormalities on the cornea include white rings at the edge of the cornea (arcus), opacification, often due to previous keratitis or occasionally corneal dystrophy, an encroaching fold of tissue (pterygium) and foreign bodies.

Visible abnormalities overlying the sclera include pigmented conjunctival patches and conjunctival lumps.
