Arcus

Description

Lipid is deposited in the peripheral cornea
Usually age-related; occasionally seen in younger patients in association with underlying high blood cholesterol levels

Clinical Features

A ring or arc of opacification just inside the periphery of both corneas
Eye otherwise normal

Management

Check blood cholesterol in patients <50 years
