Toxic retinal and optic neuropathy

Description

Medication may lead to loss of function of the retina or optic nerve. Drugs responsible include chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, phenothiazines, tamoxifen, digoxin, ethambutol, isoniazid, chloramphenicol, gold. Poor diet in association with high alcohol intake and smoking may also lead to damage to the optic nerve.

Loss of vision, particularly colour or central vision
