Hemifacial Spasm

Description

A repetitive involuntary forceful contraction or twitch of the muscles on one side of the face. Probably due to irritation of the facial nerve controlling movements of that side of the face close to where it leaves the brain.

Clinical Features

Spasmodic twitches or contractions of the eyelid and lower facial muscles

Management

See neurologist
