Dacroadentis

Description

Inflammation of the lacrimal glands. Usually no underlying cause found but may be associated with sarcoid, Sjogren’s syndome or more generalised inflammation of the eye socket tissues.

Clinical Features

Painful swelling at the lateral ends of the upper eyelids
Overlying inflammation
Distortion of the eyelid shape, being pushed down laterally
